Frequently Asked Questions

Can the text under the black box still be selected or copied?
No. Unlike a simple black box drawn over live text, every page is rasterized into an image first, so there's no text layer left to extract.
Will the resulting PDF's text still be selectable?
No, since every page becomes an image for true redaction, none of the PDF's text is selectable anymore — this is an intentional trade-off for actual security, not a bug.
