What is it?
EXE is the standard format for executable programs on Windows — running one launches an installer or application.
How do I open it?
Double-clicking runs the program directly; there's no "viewer" for EXE files beyond that, since they're compiled code, not documents.
Is it safe?
A genuine EXE from a trusted publisher is safe to run, but EXE files are the single most common way malware spreads. Only run EXE files from sources you trust, and let your antivirus scan downloads before opening them.
Can I delete it?
Safe to delete an installer EXE after the program is installed; don't delete one you haven't run yet if you might need it, since re-downloading may be needed otherwise.
